Ironwood Michigan and Surrounding Area
Like It Usta Was
Iron, copper, silver and gold made some men rich and some poor. Prospectors, engineers, businessmen, scoundrels, fraudulent stockbrokers, saloons, and railroads poured into the area.
This book is a visual history from the late 1700s to 1980s,
full of documents, mementos, articles, significant dates with notes and over 400 images. It shows visual snapshots of daily life; iron mining; logging and transportation.
Originally compiled by Earle Sell in print form in 1990.
In 2020, his son digitally recreated the book
and used the original color photos, articles
and documents wherever possible.
